History
In 1958 the Brisbane Ecclesia commenced broadcasting regular preaching programmes over the wireless (radio). As a sideline project, the Broadcast Committee became involved with supporting visiting speakers who travelled to isolated brethren and sisters for exhortations and fellowship.

The first family involved was the Villis family at Gatton. Then it was a full day’s journey by automobile along a former horse and coach track, over mountains and through creek crossings to reach Gatton. No roads existed west to Gatton and Toowoomba like we have today. The visiting brother would stay overnight, hold the memorial meeting on Sunday morning and return to Brisbane later that day.

The Christadelphian Ecclesial Tape Service was formed to provide small reel to reel tapes of the exhortations given at Brisbane Ecclesia. These were posted to the Gatton brethren during the week and listened to at their meeting the following Sunday. On alternate weeks, visiting and local speakers spoke. This recording service continued, expanded and provided services for ecclesias as far away as Cairns.

Over the years, the CETS has developed a library of reel to reels, cassettes, and CD’s on many scriptural topics, exhortations and studies. It is our intention, God willing, to convert MP3 files and make them available to the brotherhood. We have currently converted about 25% of this library to the web site, and more will be added as they are processed. Many talks are by those who rest now awaiting the return of our Lord. Some others might have changed their thinking over the years. We ask that all talks be used for self edification, and not to challenge a speaker’s former statements.

Due to the wide range of thoughts, topics, speakers and ecclesias represented in this list, the views presented do not necessarily represent those of the Brisbane Ecclesia today.
